  Elixirs has gone through some decore changes, and their food prices have gone up slightly. But their food is still the bomb!
  
  Their Kalua Pork Nachos, quesadillas, and BBQ pork sliders are amazing!
  
  My company just had a Pau Hana, and we all had a blast. Eating and drinking the night away.
  
  We all participated in Elixirs Wednesday Night Trivia. Because my company is incredibly competitive, the night was filled with laughter, boos, and excitement.
  
  It was a great night for our gang that's for sure!

  Excellent local neighborhood bar.  We went to watch the UH game and had a great time.  Huge screen and multiple TV's, friendly patrons, excellent bartender, and good pupu made it a successful new place for us.
  
  We'll be back.

  To be honest, I almost didn't go in as this is next to JJ Dollan's fabulous pizza and we all know how that is, but I had an obligation to my service organization who had the entire place for a private event.
  
  Bar Elixrs provided us with a giant "make your own taco" station, taking their regular taco ingredients that normally come in individual tacos and setting it up in a tasty DIY style. This may have been a the best bad idea of the week giving this much freedom to taco fiends. The carnitas and shredded chicken were moist, tender, and very tasty. The soft taco shells were warm, but not mushy. I ate like seven of these (stop judging me), mixing and matching with freshly sliced onions, cheese, salsa, sour cream, and other toppings. I would totally come back during a regular day for tacos, which are 2 for $6.
  
  In addition to the tacos, the tomato pesto grilled cheese and bacon kim chee grilled cheese were served, providing warm, gooey, stretchy cheese to offset the tacos. I also ate like three of these. Crunchy bread, with ample warm fillings made for tasty sandwiches.
  
  The Elixrs old fashioned consists of decent quality Bulleit bourbon whiskey with just the right amount of sweetness. Relatively smooth and not bitter, just the way I like it.
  
  Bartenders are professional, but like any bar, services can slow down as the bar gets crowded. There's a large area in the front that can be converted into an open space for events, or just filled with more seating. The bar is painted predominantly black, so it is fairly dark inside.
  
  Tentative ruling: 3.5 stars, would go back on an idle Taco Tuesday or slow Friday night.

  I gave this place a second chance. Both times different bartender 1 male 1 female.

  Stopped by after a nice stroll through downtown. We have been here before but the UH volleyball game on the huge screen drew our attention.
  
  We were lucky to come on a reopening night. New investors and the previous owner are remaking the bar.
  
  The same appeal remains though care is taken with new furniture and a more open floor plan.
  
  The food is the same good quality food. We tried the tacos which were the same good quality as before (2/$6.00) and the BLT ($10.00 for three which we had cut in half)
  
  The bartenders are very friendly. The special we bought was a bucket of imports, 6/$30. We had a great time as the new owners took the time to chat with us extensively.
  
  We definitely intend to be repeat customer, especially for televised sports and fights.
